NFT is a unique invention of our time, and former US President Donald Trump appears to be among its devoted fans. The politician obviously admires himself and seeks to promote his image in every possible way. So, NFTs look like a perfect means of an unusual promotion. The launch of the Trump Digital Trading Cards was also remarkable. Mr. Trump had teased a “major announcement” earlier in the week to warm up the audience. Then he presented his own collection of NFTs consisting of 45,000 cards for $99 each. The cards feature images of the president in different styles, including a cowboy, an astronaut, a golf player, a fighter pilot, a race car driver, and a superhero. Collectors who purchase 45 NFTs at once will get a chance to meet Donald Trump at a private dinner at Mar-a-Lago. “Hello everyone, this is Donald Trump, hopefully, your favourite president of all time - better than Lincoln, better than Washington,” he said announcing his NFTs. Notably, despite being widely mocked online, Trump’s collection of digital cards has sold out in less than a day. When promoting his NFTs, the ex-president posted a video depicting him as a superhero saying that America definitely needs one. In the video, Trump is shooting laser beams from his eyes and tearing off his suit to reveal a superhero costume with the letter “T” in the center.
