Despite the fact that the crypto market has taken a huge hit, with many cryptos falling by more than 80%, they have gained huge popularity in Turkey. A recent study by CryptoManiaks, a crypto education platform, shows that Turkey is among the leading countries in cryptocurrency awareness. According to the survey, 5.5% of people in Turkey searched for crypto-related terms. In addition, Turkey topped the rank with the largest number of searches estimated at 4.7 million. Since 2022, the country has made tremendous improvements in crypto adoption. The study shows that at least 8 million people in Turkey are engaged in crypto. Speaking about the benefits of blockchain innovation, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country wanted to become a producer of digital assets, not a consumer. Notably, the survey revealed that Turks prefer DOGE to ETH. Turkey is ranked first with 812,000 monthly searches related to Dogecoin. The number of searches for Dogecoin is about twice that of Ethereum, the third most searched crypto in the country.
