Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, claimed he was looking for a person to replace him as head of the social network. Musk said the candidate should be “foolish enough” to take his position.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job,” he posted on Twitter. However, the current owner of the social network claimed the search was not going particularly well. “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” Musk tweeted. He added that he would lead Twitter’s software and server teams after resigning as CEO.
In December 2022, Elon Musk held a Twitter poll on whether he should stay as CEO of Twitter or resign. As much as 57.5% of users voted in favor of Musk stepping down as head of the company, while 42.5% supported his tenure. “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it,” he tweeted later before announcing the search for a new CEO to replace him.
