Sometimes it is too hard to throw down the glove to segment giants even if you were one of them sometime ago. Perhaps, exactly for this reason, BlackBerry has decided to go on the warpath to compete with these giant corporations. The world-famous smartphone producer announced plans to create a coalition which will be strong enough to give battle to Apple and IBM. The Canadian company believes such a tough partnership will be able to stand against the segment leaders which said that they are going to cooperate in the mobile era, striking an agreement to create simple-to-use business apps and sell iPhones and iPads to Big Blue's corporate customers in early July. So, BlackBerry walked the walk. Its chief executive John Chen unveiled the first results of negotiations. He said the company is in talks with several IT firms. Now the negotiations are in their initial stage – the parties are considering advantages of such cooperation. Expert note rivalry is tightening in this sector, and the agreement between Apple and IBM on corporate clients is a new format of relationship between the rivals. International Business Machines Corp will partner exclusively with Apple Inc to sell iPhones and iPads loaded with applications geared at enterprise clients this fall. The company hopes software sales will contribute half of its total profit by 2015. The company will release more than 100 apps targeting industry specific issues in retail, healthcare, banking, travel, transportation and telecommunications. Examining this experience of the colleagues, BlackBerry intends to go in the same direction, gathering its own coalition.
