Retrosouls are rejoicing as the legendary Made in Czechoslovakia brand is said to be about to come back! This news has sent millions of fashionists over the moon. The project is supposed to strengthen the historical ties between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The manufacturers seek to rekindle the cooperation and step up exports to the emerging nations as well as to reinforce the feedback on buyers and suppliers. The Made in Czechoslovakia brand will be promoted by the Czech Export Bank and Slovakia's Eximbanka; both have already entered into a relevant agreement.
Yet, some take a dim view of this idea. Slovakia’s president Andrej Kiska said in June that no rebirth of Made in Czechoslovakia was planned, adding that “Made in Czechoslovakia is history; each country is building its own national brand towards national prosperity and national pride.” A short reference: the Czechoslovak Republic was founded in 1918 only to dissolve into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. The clothing by Made in Czechoslovakia was very popular both in Russia and in the West.
