Polish Economy Expands 1.5% Q3, More Than Estimated

Poland's?economy grew?slightly more than initially estimated in the third quarter, preliminary data from Statistics Poland showed on Thursday.

Gross domestic product rose 1.5 percent sequentially in the third quarter, faster than the 0.3 percent increase in the second quarter. In the flash report, the rate of expansion was 1.4 percent.

On the expenditure side, household consumption increased by 2.3 percent, and public consumption rose by 1.0 percent. Data showed that gross fixed capital formation gained 1.0 percent.

On a year-on-year basis, GDP recovered 0.5 percent in the third quarter versus a 0.6 percent fall in the previous quarter. The September quarter figure was revised up from 0.4 percent.

Seasonally adjusted GDP expanded 0.6 percent annually in the September quarter, reversing a 0.3 percent decline in the June quarter.
