Dollar Climbs After U.S. Retail Sales

U.S. retail sales and export and import prices for December have been released at 8:30 am ET Wednesday. The greenback strengthened against its major rivals after the data.

The greenback was trading at 147.97 against the yen, 1.0865 against the euro, 1.2648 against the pound and 0.8665 against the franc around 8:35 am ET.
