Google has recently announced a series of significant updates for its Pixel 8 series.
They kick off with the introduction of a fresh Mint color option, available for both Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Similarly, a new feature known as "Circle to Search", similar to one on the Samsung Galaxy S24, will also be included. This helpful function lets users encircle any content on their screen, triggering the AI to perform a Google search based on the highlighted content. This feature is scheduled to be launched on January 31st, coinciding with Samsung’s S24 lineup release date.
Another interesting update is the "Magic Compose" in Messages. With the help of Google's advanced AI technology, users can rewrite their drafted messages in different styles like professional, brief, or even in a Shakespearean manner.
In addition, the "Photomoji" feature allows users to convert their personal photos into stickers or emoji reactions, which can be used in Google Messages.
It's also worth mentioning that the Pixel 8 Pro is to be equipped with a built-in thermometer. The implementation was postponed by four months because of the regulatory norms associated with body temperature sensors. The delayed timeline was essential to secure FDA approval, certifying the thermometer’s precision. As per Google, it's as accurate as other FDA-approved temporal artery thermometers, with a range of 96.9°F-104°F (36.1°C-40°C) and an accuracy within ±0.3°C. This feature, however, will only be accessible to users in the United States.
