TScan Therapeutics, Inc. publicly announced the appointment of Jason A. Amello as its new Chief Financial Officer on Monday. The company's Chief Executive Officer, Gavin MacBeath, Ph.D., openly conveyed his confidence in Amello's capabilities based on his extensive corporate experience. He further noted that Amello's appointment is perfectly timed, as TScan is currently advancing its clinical-stage programs.
Amello has nearly thirty years of experience in the biomedical sector, specializing in financial strategy, business development, and operations. He comes to TScan from Candel Therapeutics, Inc., where he was responsible for finances as well as holding the positions of Treasurer and Secretary.
Earlier on in his career, he held various finance leadership roles at Saniona AB, Akebia Therapeutics, Inc., and Ziopharm Oncology, Inc. (which has since become Alaunos Therapeutics, Inc.). During this time, he supervised a number of equity and debt financings, managed an initial public offering (IPO), and played a significant role in a merger of equals. Amello also served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Genzyme Corporation, now known as Sanofi AG, from 2000 to 2011.
