The Cigna Group (CI) has reported a decrease in its profits for the fourth quarter as compared to the same period last year. The company's earnings dropped to $1.03 billion, or $3.49 per share, from $1.19 billion, or $3.91 per share, in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
However, upon excluding certain items, the adjusted earnings reported by The Cigna Group were $2.00 billion or $6.79 per share for the quarter.
There was an 11.7% rise in the company's revenue for the quarter, which amounted to $51.11 billion, up from $45.75 billion in last year's fourth quarter.
In a quick glance at The Cigna Group's earnings in terms of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the earnings for Q4 stood at $1.03 billion compared to $1.19 billion last year, EPS for Q4 at $3.49 compared to $3.91 last year, and revenue for Q4 was $51.11 billion as against $45.75 billion last year.
