The following are the recent earnings highlights for United States Steel Corp. (X):
The corporation had earnings of negative $80 million in the fourth quarter, compared to $174 million in the same period the previous year. The Earnings Per Share (EPS) were negatively marked at $0.36 in the fourth quarter, against $0.68 in the same quarter of the previous year.
However, when special items are excluded, United States Steel Corp. reported adjusted earnings of $167 million or $0.67 per share for the period. Analysts had projected the per share earnings to be $0.26.
The revenue for the fourth quarter stood at $4.14 billion, down from $4.34 billion in the same period of the previous year.
