French stocks saw an uptick on Monday following comments from Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who expressed his country's intentions to avoid further escalating conflict in the region.
During a joint press conference with Lebanon's Abdallah Bou Habib in Beirut, Amir-Abdollahian spoke about the unprofitability of war. He asserted that both Iran and Lebanon believe it is not a solution and that they have no interest in widening the battlefield. Additionally, the Iranian diplomat called upon the United States to exert pressure on Israel to halt its attacks on Gaza and the West Bank.
In response to these developments, France's significant trading index, the CAC 40, gained 32 points or 0.4 percent, settling at 7,679, recovering after Friday's 0.2 percent drop.
