Uniper SE (UNPRF.PK) has revealed in its preliminary figures that it anticipates an adjusted EBIT of over 6.3 billion euros for the 2023 fiscal year. This falls within the predicted range of 6 to 7 billion euros. Moreover, the adjusted net income exceeded 4.4 billion euros, fitting comfortably within the projected sum of 4 to 5 billion euros. The company's robust earnings were primarily boosted by successful forward transactions that balanced out the impact of reduced Russian gas supplies. This fortuitous condition generated a singular effect that amounted to approximately 2.3 billion euros in the 2023 fiscal year, significantly enhancing the annual results.
Uniper further elaborated that it plans to allocate a provision of approximately 2.3 billion euros in its consolidated financial statement for the 2023 fiscal year. This is set to cover a probable payment obligation to the Federal Republic of Germany, linked with the state aid received in 2022. The company highlighted that the payment's final amount depends on the yearly results for 2024 and the payment is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2025, using current liquid funds.
