Microsoft Corporation has declared an upgrade to Windows 11 that will implement new generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to better engage with users. This revise, projected to elevate the functionality of Copilot, Microsoft's integrated generative AI application, will bring to consumers a variety of increased features and enhancements.
The Copilot feature particularly gains the potential to tweak PC settings, such as the battery-saving mode and accessibility features like Narrator or Magnifier. Users will also be able to monitor Wi-Fi networks, storage capacity, and even have the choice to empty the recycle bin. The update will further comprise of a state-of-the-art photo-editing feature and plug-ins for apps, including OpenTable.
The newly improved Windows 11 will launch a distinctive Generative Erase feature in Photos, accelerated Snap layouts, along with changes to the Widgets system. These novel Copilot options will be made accessible commencing late March, and will typically be triggered automatically in the March 2024 optional non-security preview release for all versions of Windows 11.
Yusuf Mehdi, the Executive Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft, expressed these updates are a component of Microsoft's Copilot preview incentive. The primary objective is to merge generative AI across its product line, reaching beyond the Azure cloud segment. This strategy matches the industry trajectory of harnessing AI in PCs to stimulate sales growth.
