Pratt & Whitney, FAA Join To Study Non-CO2 Emissions

Pratt & Whitney will collaborate with the Federal Aviation Administration, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Aerodyne Research, Inc., and the Environmental Protection Agency to perform a study of non-carbon dioxide aviation emissions. This research aims to understand and mitigate the environment impact of such emissions. The study will largely involve measurements of emissions from a Pratt & Whitney GTF engine combustor rig, tested with both traditional Jet A and entirely sustainable aviation fuel. The testing will take place at Pratt & Whitney's Middletown, Connecticut base.

In addition, it should be noted that Pratt & Whitney, which is part of the RTX Corporation, has a wide array of operations, including the design, manufacture, and servicing of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units.
