French stock markets experienced subdued activity on Tuesday due to lingering uncertainties over the future interest rate scenarios in Europe and the United States. Moreover, geopolitics also drew significant attention after Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly affirmed for the first time that radical Islamists were behind the recent assault on a concert hall near Moscow. He also insinuated Ukraine's involvement in some manner.
"We are aware that this heinous act was perpetrated by radical Islamists, in opposition to whose ideology the Islamic world itself has been battling for centuries," Putin mentioned during a televised session. The central CAC 40 index dropped by 11 points or 0.1 percent landing at 8,140 after a marginal decline the day before.
