The Italian construction industry has witnessed its most significant growth in five months, as revealed in preliminary data from Istat, Italy's national statistical office. In January, there was a monthly increase in construction production of 3.7%, a notable rise from the previous month's growth of 1.3%.
There was also a significant acceleration in the annual growth rate of construction output, rising to a 16-month high at 14.8% in January. This represents an improvement from the earlier month's figure of 12.4%.
Moreover, on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the construction industry's output rose at an accelerated rate of 18.8% yearly, compared to the increase of 3.9% observed in December.
