SunFireMatrix, Inc., a company that provides software and services to the insurance and health plan sectors, announced its acquisition by KKR & Co. Inc., a prominent investment firm, on Tuesday. While the financial specifics of the deal are undisclosed, it's known that Stone Point Capital LLC, SunFireMatrix's former majority owner, will retain a substantial minority stake in the company post-acquisition.
The investment by KKR is being financed through its Health Care Strategic Growth (HCSG) Fund II, which aims to invest in rapidly growing healthcare companies. The financial firms Evercore and William Blair served as advisors to KKR and SunFire, respectively, for this transaction.
