Apple (AAPL) has authorized the mass production of OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro, as reported by Korea's The Elec.
The report highlights that three suppliers will handle the manufacturing of these displays. Samsung will provide screens for all four iPhone 16 models, LG will supply displays specifically for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, and BOE will produce screens exclusively for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
It was also mentioned that Samsung is expected to complete the final approval process by the end of this month, with LG following suit by mid-June.
The tech giant has yet to make a final decision regarding the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Despite the delay in display approval, experts suggest this will not impact the launch schedule of the iPhone 16 models, which are set to be announced in early September, with the release following in mid-September or early October.
