European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Industrial Output Data Due

Industrial production data from the euro area is the most significant economic news scheduled for release on Thursday, leading a relatively light day for European economic updates.

At 2:00 am ET, Destatis will publish Germany’s wholesale prices for May. Economists predict a 0.3% monthly increase, following a 0.4% rise in April.

Half an hour later, Switzerland will release its producer prices data.

At 3:00 am ET, Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) will release final consumer and harmonized consumer price figures for May. Consumer price inflation is expected to hold steady at 3.6%, as per the preliminary estimate, and up from 3.3% in April.

Concurrently, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs in Switzerland will disclose its quarterly economic forecast.

At 4:00 am ET, Italy will report its quarterly unemployment data. The jobless rate is anticipated to remain at 7.4% for the first quarter.

At 5:00 am ET, Eurostat will announce euro area industrial production figures for April. Economists foresee a modest 0.1% monthly increase, following a 0.6% rise in March.
