Apple's (AAPL) Vision Pro headset is now available in Apple stores across the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, and Australia.
Previously, this mixed reality device was exclusive to markets including Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, mainland China, and the United States.
Described by CEO Tim Cook as "the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created," the Vision Pro merges digital content with the physical world, offering powerful spatial experiences through visionOS. Users control the device using the most natural and intuitive inputs available: their eyes, hands, and voice.
Despite the initial excitement, the device received mixed reviews following its U.S. launch. While some praised the technology, others criticized its functionality, ease of use, and comfort during prolonged use.
Retailing at $3,500, the headset has seen a decline in demand over time. Market tracker IDC estimates that overall sales are unlikely to exceed 500,000 units in 2024.
Apple is hopeful that the recent international expansion will compensate for the declining sales in the U.S.
