Dutch Exports Fall 4.3% In May

The Netherlands experienced a decline in exports in May, following a brief recovery in the previous month, as reported by the statistical office CBS on Monday.

Year-on-year, exports fell by 4.3 percent in May, negating a 0.4 percent increase seen in April, which had marked the first growth in eleven months.

The agency attributed the decline to lower exports of machinery, natural gas, petroleum products, and transport equipment compared to data from the same period last year.

Moreover, the volume of imports was recorded to be 1.7 percent lower in May on a year-on-year basis.

The CBS Export Radar for July indicated that the conditions for exports were less favorable than those reported in May's radar.
