Microsoft (MSFT) has unveiled Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27686 for participants in the Canary Channel.
This build introduces the Windows Sandbox Client Preview, which offers features such as runtime clipboard detection, control over audio and video input, and the capability to share folders with the host system during runtime.
"We have implemented optimizations aimed at enhancing battery life for PCs operating on Build 27686 and beyond in the Canary Channel," Microsoft disclosed in a blog post.
Additionally, the update incorporates expanded command-line support. Specifically, the format command from a command prompt now enables the creation of partitions up to 2TB without the need for third-party utilities or the PowerShell prompt.
Moreover, the release addresses a bug that caused the battery icon on the lock screen to be misaligned with the actual battery level.
"To assist in evaluating potential enhancements in network performance, your device may periodically perform network tests in the background to gather diagnostic data. These tests will consume a minimal amount of data (up to 10MB per day) and will only execute on Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections that are not designated as metered. This behavior will exclusively occur on PCs in the Canary Channel running Build 27686 and higher," the company elaborated.
