Alstom SA, a prominent manufacturer of rolling stock, announced on Monday the completion of the sale of its North American conventional signaling business to Knorr-Bremse AG. This transaction marks a significant milestone in Alstom’s strategic plan to reduce its debt by 2 billion euros.
"This divestiture aligns with the comprehensive action plan Alstom unveiled on November 15, 2023, aimed at strengthening our balance sheet. Alstom has successfully implemented all three components of that plan, resulting in the stabilization of its Investment Grade rating," the company stated.
Despite the sale, Alstom will continue to cater to the North American signaling market with its advanced Communications-Based Train Control and European Train Control System solutions.
