Latvian Inflation Remains Stable In August

Latvia's consumer price inflation remained stable in August, following a slowdown in the previous month, according to data released by the statistical office on Monday.

Year-on-year, consumer prices increased by 0.7 percent in August, maintaining the same growth rate as observed in the prior month.

Food price inflation decelerated to 0.9 percent in August from 2.1 percent in July, while housing costs fell by 1.9 percent. However, health costs experienced a slight uptick, growing at a rate of 0.6 percent compared to 0.3 percent in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.5 percent in August, offsetting a modest 0.1 percent increase recorded in July.
