French stocks remained stable on Wednesday as investors awaited U.S. consumer inflation data expected later in the day, which could provide insights into the extent of the anticipated rate cut by the Federal Reserve at next week's policy meeting.
Market attention was also directed towards the European Central Bank (ECB), which is likely to lower its borrowing costs for the second time this year on Thursday.
The benchmark CAC 40 edged slightly higher to 7,408, following a 0.2 percent decline the previous day.
