Hong Kong's unemployment rate remained unchanged for the June-August period, according to labor force statistics released by the Census and Statistics Department on Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.0 percent from June to August, consistent with the May-July period.
The data also indicated that the underemployment rate remained stable at 1.2 percent.
However, on an unadjusted basis, the unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.2 percent from 3.1 percent.
The number of unemployed individuals rose to 122,300, up from 117,800 in the May-July period.
Chris Sun, the Secretary for Labor and Welfare, commented, "The overall labor market should remain tight in the near term alongside continued economic growth. However, the employment situation in some sectors may be under pressure as their businesses continue to face challenges."
