Sweden's retail sector saw an increase in sales for the second consecutive month in August, although the growth rate decelerated, according to data released by Statistics Sweden on Monday.
Seasonally and working-day adjusted retail sales posted a 0.4 percent year-on-year rise in August, down from the 0.8 percent rebound observed in July.
Sales of consumables, excluding those at the state-owned chain of liquor stores, experienced a 0.3 percent annual growth in August. Similarly, sales of durables also recorded a 0.3 percent rise.
On an annual basis, retail sales registered a 0.5 percent recovery in August, following a 0.4 percent decline in the previous month.
