BigCommerce Appoints Travis Hess As CEO

BigCommerce Holdings Inc. (BIGC) has announced the appointment of Travis Hess as its new Chief Executive Officer. Consequently, Brent Bellm will step down from his roles as CEO and Chairman of the Board.

In his new position, Hess will join the company's board, filling the space left by Bellm's departure. Ellen Siminoff, an existing board member, will take on the role of Executive Chair of the Board effective immediately.

Hess initially joined BigCommerce as President in May 2024. Before joining BigCommerce, he held leadership positions at prominent global commerce agencies and consultancies, including Accenture, where he spearheaded their direct-to-consumer commerce strategy. Hess has also participated in partner advisory boards for companies like Shopify, Klaviyo, SAP/Hybris, and Rackspace, and he was named one of the 30 Most Influential in Ecommerce by Signifyd in 2022.

Before his tenure at Accenture, Hess served as Executive Vice President at The Stable, an omnichannel commerce agency later acquired by Accenture. He also held the roles of Chief Commercial Officer and subsequently CEO at BVA, which The Stable acquired in December 2021.

BigCommerce has reaffirmed its financial projections for the third quarter of fiscal year 2024, maintaining the guidance previously issued on August 1, 2024.
