Spain Industrial Output Falls Slightly In September

Spain's industrial output experienced a slight decline in September, according to data released by the Spanish statistical office, INE, on Friday.

The annual industrial production fell by 0.1 percent, following a 0.4 percent decrease in the previous month. This marks the second consecutive decline in output.

On an unadjusted basis, there was a 3.5 percent drop in industrial production, which stands in contrast to a 4.6 percent increase observed in the previous month.

Most components of industrial production, with the exception of intermediate goods, declined in August. Notably, capital goods witnessed the most significant decrease, falling by 2.8 percent. Energy output dropped by 1.2 percent, and consumer goods production saw a slight reduction of 0.1 percent.

Conversely, the production of intermediate goods registered an annual increase of 1.8 percent.

When evaluated on a month-to-month basis, industrial production declined by 0.1 percent, following a 0.4 percent decrease in July.
