Leidos Holdings, Inc. (LDOS), a leader in engineering solutions, announced on Wednesday the acquisition of a six-year follow-on contract for the Automated Installation Entry (AIE) project, valued at $249 million. This contract aims to enhance security measures across 92 additional Army and selected Joint-Service installation access control points worldwide.
This single-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract intends to facilitate seamless and secure entry for both pedestrians and vehicles at military access control locations.
Leidos is advancing its biometric systems, including those utilized for AIE, to authenticate digital identities while integrating cutting-edge cybersecurity measures.
The project features a cloud-based deployment, which will provide near real-time updates to authentication protocols, adapting to dynamic force protection requirements.
The AIE stands as the Army's official initiative to streamline access control for authorized personnel and vehicles, ensuring their identification credentials are cross-verified with authoritative law enforcement databases.
Leidos will carry out its work at various Army and Joint-Service installations, with critical systems engineering and testing operations primarily conducted at their Edgewood, Maryland facility.
