Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) announced on Thursday that its "Prime Big Deal Days" has become the most successful October shopping event in the company's history, witnessing a surge in Prime member participation compared to the previous year, as shoppers seized early holiday discounts.
This event marks the commencement of the holiday shopping season, achieving higher sales volume and more items sold over this two-day period than any former October shopping event.
On a global scale, Prime members collectively saved over $1 billion through millions of deals, which included seasonal merchandise and gifts.
The discounts spanned across categories such as electronics, home essentials, toys, beauty products, and apparel, with notable savings on items from brands like Dyson, Mattel, Levi's, and Apple. Independent sellers also reported unprecedented sales during the event, surpassing the figures from Prime Big Deal Days 2023.
In the three weeks leading up to the event, a record number of customers worldwide signed up for Prime, exceeding the enrollment figures from last year's event.
