In September, Estonia experienced a downturn in producer prices, marking the first decline in three months, as reported by Statistics Estonia on Monday. The producer price index fell by 0.5 percent year-on-year, a reversal from the 1.7 percent increase observed in August. The most significant contributors to this decline were the reduced prices in electricity and heat energy production, alongside the manufacturing of fuel oils.
On a monthly basis, producer prices saw a 1.6 percent reduction in September, again led by decreased costs in electricity and heat energy production, as well as a drop in the manufacturing prices of fuel oils.
Additionally, the data disclosed that export prices fell by 1.2 percent compared to the previous month and decreased by 1.1 percent annually in September. Import prices also witnessed a decline, dropping 2.0 percent month-over-month and 1.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
