Honda Recalls Over 720,800 Vehicles Due To Faulty Fuel Pump Issues

Honda has issued a recall for 720,810 vehicles in the United States due to worries about a high-pressure fuel pump that might develop cracks and potentially leak fuel. The affected vehicles include specific models from 2023 to 2025, such as the Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic and Civic Hybrid.

The issue stems from a flaw in the high-pressure fuel pump core, which could cause cracks to form inside the pump. These cracks may expand during vehicle operation, potentially leading to fuel leakage, an odor of fuel while the vehicle is idle or in motion, and, in worst-case scenarios, the risk of fire, crash, or injury.

To address this issue, Honda will notify the owners of the affected models through mail in December. They will be instructed to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer for a complimentary inspection. If the fuel pump is found to be defective, it will be replaced at no cost to the owner.

American Honda is making this recall announcement to prompt owners of the impacted vehicles to visit an authorized dealer for necessary repairs as soon as they are informed.
