Consumer sentiment in South Korea experienced an uptick in October, reaching its highest level in three months, according to survey data released by the Bank of Korea on Wednesday.
The consumer confidence index climbed to 101.7 in October, up from 100.0 in September.
This consumer confidence survey was conducted from October 8 to 16, encompassing responses from 2,500 households.
The sub-index evaluating households' current living standards remained unchanged at 90.0. However, expectations for future living standards saw improvement, with the corresponding index increasing to 96 from 94.
Likewise, the index tracking expectations for future household income rose slightly, moving from 98 to 99.
In October, consumers' expectations regarding interest rates showed a decline, as the index dropped to 88 from 93.
The anticipated inflation rate for the coming year held steady at 2.8 percent, unchanged from September.
