CNA Financial Corporation (CNA), a leading commercial property and casualty insurance firm, announced its financial results for the third quarter on Monday. The company reported a net income of $283 million, translating to $1.04 per share, reflecting an increase from the $258 million, or $0.95 per share, recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
When excluding investment losses, CNA's core income reached $293 million, equating to $1.08 per share. This is a slight rise from last year's core income of $289 million, or $1.06 per share.
The quarter witnessed net investment losses amounting to $7 million, a notable reduction from the $31 million loss reported in the prior year’s quarter.
CNA Financial has also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.44 per share, which will be distributed on December 5 to shareholders who are recorded by November 18.
