German energy firm Uniper SE (UNPRF.PK) has disclosed its financial performance for the first nine months of fiscal 2024. The company recorded a net income of 841 million euros, a significant decline from the restated 9.79 billion euros in the same period last year.
Earnings per share also saw a decrease, falling to 1.92 euros compared to 23.47 euros the previous year.
The adjusted net income was reported at 1.28 billion euros, contrasting with 3.74 billion euros from the prior year.
The adjusted EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) was 1.72 billion euros, a drop from last year's 5.49 billion euros. Uniper's adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) amounted to 2.18 billion euros, markedly lower than the 6.09 billion euros recorded in the previous year.
The results from the previous year were influenced by successful optimization transactions related to gas replacement procurement in response to undelivered gas from Russia.
The company's sales fell sharply to 48.26 billion euros, down from 75.34 billion euros a year earlier.
Looking forward to fiscal 2024, Uniper maintains its forecast of adjusted EBITDA at 2.4 billion euros and adjusted net income at 1.5 billion euros.
