Japan's household spending decreased by 1.1% compared to the same month last year, as reported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on Friday, reaching 287,963 yen. This decline was less severe than the anticipated 1.8% drop and follows a 1.9% decrease in August. On a monthly scale, spending dipped by 1.3%, which was greater than the expected 0.7% decline, after seeing a 2.0% rise in the previous month. Additionally, the average monthly income per household fell by 1.6% year-on-year, amounting to 493,942 yen.
