Liberty Energy, Inc. (LBRT), an energy services company, announced on Monday that its Board of Directors plans to appoint William Kimble as the new non-executive Chairman of the Board and Ron Gusek as Chief Executive Officer.
This decision corresponds with the announcement by President-elect Donald Trump nominating Chris Wright, the founder and current Chairman of the Board, Director, and CEO of Liberty, for the role of U.S. Secretary of Energy.
Chris Wright's appointment as Secretary of Energy will require confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Until this process is complete, Wright will maintain his existing roles within the company.
Following the Senate's confirmation and as outlined in the company's succession plan, Kimble and Gusek will officially step into their new roles.
William Kimble, who has been on the Board since Liberty's initial public offering in January 2018, has served as Lead Director since October 2018. Meanwhile, Ron Gusek, who joined Liberty in 2014, has held the position of President since November 2016.
