Ryanair, listed under the ticker symbols RYA.L and RYAAY, has announced that it has instructed its legal team to swiftly file an appeal against the baggage fines imposed by Spain. The airline contends that these penalties were concocted by Spain's Consumer Affairs Ministry for political motives and contravene European Union regulations.
Michael O'Leary, representing Ryanair, stated, "The fines issued in Spain today are illegal and violate EU regulation 1008/2008. These penalties will be overturned by the EU Courts, which have consistently upheld the rights of all EU airlines to determine their own pricing and policies without government interference."
