Brown-Forman Names Marshall Farrer To Succeed Campbell Brown As Chair Of The Board

Brown-Forman Corporation (BFA, BFB) has announced significant changes in its Board of Directors. Campbell Brown will relinquish his role as Chair in July, although he will remain as a Director, contingent upon being reelected during the annual meeting. Brown had assumed the chairmanship in 2021.

Stepping into the role of Chair, subject to reelection, will be Marshall Farrer, a fifth-generation descendant of Brown-Forman's founder and an existing Board Director since 2016. Farrer will become the eleventh member of the Brown family, and the third from the fifth generation, to hold this prestigious position.

Farrer's journey with Brown-Forman began in 1998 when he started as a Market Manager in the Wine Division in California. Over the years, he has ascended through various senior roles, marking significant contributions across the organization. In 2006, he took on the position of Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, which was followed by a move to Sydney as Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific.

He has been instrumental in spearheading the global expansion of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey and overseeing the Global Travel Retail business. In 2020, he relocated to Amsterdam and London as the President of Europe and joined the Executive Leadership Team. By 2023, Farrer was appointed as Executive Vice President and became Brown-Forman's first Chief Strategic Growth Officer, a role he continues to fulfill.
