U.S. Consumer Prices Rise In Line With Estimates In October

In a report widely monitored by analysts, the Commerce Department disclosed that consumer prices in the U.S. saw an anticipated rise in October. According to the department, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index increased by 0.2% during that month, a repetition of the growth observed in September and consistent with economic forecasts.

The annual growth rate of the PCE price index accelerated to 2.3% in October, up from 2.1% in September, meeting analysts' predictions. When excluding volatile categories like food and energy, the core PCE price index recorded a 0.3% increase in October, mirroring the growth rate of the previous month and aligning with expert estimates.

The annual growth for the core PCE price index edged up to 2.8% in October from 2.7% in September, once again aligning with forecasted expectations. These inflation indicators, favored by the Federal Reserve, form part of a report detailing personal income and expenditure.

Additionally, the report highlighted a 0.6% rise in personal income for October, while personal spending increased by 0.4%. Both figures surpassed economists' projections of a 0.3% rise for income and spending.
