Swiss KOF Leading Indicator Improves In November

A survey by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute indicated an improvement in a key measure forecasting future turning points in the Swiss economy for November. The economic barometer rose to 101.8, an increase from a revised 99.5 in October. Notably, October was the first month since January where the score fell below 100.

The current score reflects a steadily progressing economy, though lacking strong momentum. Examining the production side, there are positive trends in manufacturing, financial and insurance services, the hospitality and construction sectors, as well as other service industries.

In the manufacturing sector, significant advances were observed particularly in paper and printing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and machinery manufacturing. On the demand side, consumer demand indicators remain largely unchanged, indicating a generally favorable outlook, as reported by the KOF.
