The firm anticipates continued rate reductions and macroeconomic stability in 2025, with their long-standing prediction of a soft landing for the U.S. economy finally coming to fruition.
The firm projects that the cycle of rate cuts, initiated in 2024, will extend further into 2025. However, the recent electoral victory of the Trump-led Republicans could potentially alter this trajectory in the latter half of the year. State Street Global Advisors maintains a positive outlook on fixed income investments for 2025. They foresee that decreasing economic output and moderate inflation may encourage central banks to implement additional policy rate reductions, though the pace and magnitude of these cuts could become less predictable under a Trump administration.
