In October, Spain's industrial output experienced its swiftest growth in over 18 months, according to Thursday’s data released by the statistical office INE. Industrial production increased by 1.9 percent compared to the same period last year, following a 1.1 percent rise in the previous month. This marks the most rapid expansion since March 2023, when the output had surged by 2.9 percent.
When not seasonally adjusted, industrial production shot up by 6.4 percent, contrasting with a modest 0.1 percent increase the month before. In October, all sectors within industrial production exhibited growth. Capital goods saw the most substantial rise at 2.0 percent, consumer goods production increased by 1.8 percent, and the energy sector saw a 0.8 percent expansion.
On a month-to-month analysis, industrial production saw a 0.5 percent increase, succeeding the 0.6 percent growth recorded in September.
