Teamviewer In Deal To Buy Software Firm 1E From Carlyle In $720 Mln Deal

TeamViewer AG, a renowned German company specializing in remote-working software, announced on Tuesday its strategic acquisition of London-based company 1E for an enterprise value of $720 million, structured on a cash-free, debt-free basis.

1E, known for its Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management tools, is being acquired from Carlyle Europe Technology Partners (CETP), a branch of the global investment leader Carlyle Group.

The completion of this acquisition is anticipated in early 2025, pending all necessary regulatory approvals.

TeamViewer highlighted that this transformational acquisition will significantly fortify its position in the digital workplace arena. By integrating its remote access and support capabilities with 1E’s cutting-edge autonomous IT platform, TeamViewer aims to offer a comprehensive solution for IT operations, intelligent endpoint management, and an enhanced user experience in digital workplace environments.

Carlyle Group had acquired a majority stake in 1E in 2021, while the company's founder, Sumir Karayi, maintained a substantial minority share.
