Turkey's retail sales maintained a strong upward trend in October, although experiencing a slight deceleration from the previous month's pace, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Wednesday.
In October, retail sales volumes increased by 15.0% year-over-year, following a robust 16.4% increase in September. Within the non-food sector, excluding automotive fuel, sales jumped 20.1% annually. Conversely, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 10.6%. Meanwhile, automotive fuel sales registered a modest 1.0% rise.
On a month-to-month basis, retail sales rose by 0.2%, significantly lower than the 2.5% growth recorded in the previous month, but marking the fifth consecutive monthly increase.
