CAC 40 Little Changed Ahead Of Fed, BoE Meetings

French equities remained stable on Wednesday as investors anticipate the forthcoming meetings of the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England. The market has already factored in a likely 25-basis point reduction in interest rates by the Federal Reserve later today.

Investors are poised to pay close attention to the Fed's revised economic forecasts and the "dot plot" to gain clarity on the pace and scale of potential rate reductions through 2025.

Conversely, the Bank of England is anticipated to maintain interest rates at 4.75 percent on Thursday, following data indicating that UK inflation rose to 2.6 percent in November, primarily due to increased fuel prices.

The CAC 40 index edged slightly higher to 7,371, experiencing a modest 0.1 percent increase the previous day.

Credit Agricole saw its shares rise by approximately 1 percent after announcing Olivier Gavalda as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Meanwhile, Renault, which holds an approximate 23 percent stake in Japan's Nissan, soared nearly 6 percent following reports that Honda and Nissan have initiated discussions regarding a potential merger.
