Apple To Reportedly Launch Smart Doorbell System With Face ID

Apple is reportedly developing an innovative smart doorbell system that utilizes Face ID technology to unlock doors, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. This upcoming system will incorporate Apple's Secure Enclave chip, which is designed to store and process Face ID data securely, thereby safeguarding user information. The system will feature a deadbolt lock that automatically opens after verifying biometric details.

To enhance security measures, Apple plans to implement the HomeKit Secure Video service, which offers end-to-end encryption to securely store video recordings in iCloud. Apple is expected to collaborate with HomeKit-compatible smart locks or partner with another smart lock company to provide a comprehensive system upon its release.

Industry analysts predict the doorbell could be introduced by late 2025 at the earliest. Meanwhile, numerous reports suggest that Apple is also gearing up to launch a smart home hub next year, which will focus on integrating with Apple Intelligence.
