Builders FirstSource, Inc. (BLDR) has announced its agreement to acquire Alpine Lumber Company. The acquisition is projected to positively impact the company's adjusted earnings per share by 2025. The transaction will be financed using a mix of the company's current cash reserves and available credit lines, with completion anticipated in the early part of the first quarter of 2025.
Alpine Lumber Company, established by the Kurtz family in 1963 in Englewood, Colorado, transitioned to a fully employee-owned enterprise. It operates 21 locations serving homebuilders and contractors across Colorado's Front Range, western Colorado, and northern New Mexico. Alpine offers a diverse array of products, including prefabricated trusses, wall panels, and millwork. As of November 2024, the company reported trailing twelve-month sales of approximately $500 million.
